ABOUT US
The idea for Rayburn RV Hideout started many years ago as the perfect
campground to host families and fishermen on one of the top bass lakes in
the nation. The layout of the park allows for ample parking for a
boat, RV and vehicles at most sites, and yet gives more room at each site
then at a typical RV park. Each site was laid out to take advantage of
the natural shade trees in the park and to give each site a individual and
unique feel. Our climate controlled bathhouse lets you enjoy comfort
while camping.
Many times we have been asked why don't we expand our park bigger than its
current 22 sites. We feel that the small park with its hometown
atmosphere as well as the roomy shaded sites is more important than
squeezing in a couple more sites and removing all the trees. There are
plenty of parks in the area that offer the "coordinate the opening your door
and sides, and just pass the butter through the window to your neighbor to
see how many sites we can squeeze in" atmosphere.
Our park is surrounded on 3 sides by US Army Corps of Engineer land with FM
-1007 on the fourth side. While you cannot see the Lake Sam Rayburn from
the park, it is just a short 4/10 of a mile walk through the woods to the
lake. Boat ramps are located close to the park. This allows you close
access to the Lake, but without the annoying whine of jet skis and boat
motors right outside your door.
Each site has a picnic table and fire ring to help you complete your camping
experience. All sites and roads are graveled. Tent camping is
welcome at any of our sites.
We offer a climate controlled bathhouse for your showering comfort. We
offer free WiFi access in the park for our guests.
On September 24, 2005 Hurricane Rita made landfall at Sabine Pass, Texas and
headed North and passed over Rayburn RV Hideout. You can read and see
pictures of the park after the Rita passed on our
Hurricane Rita page.
On September 13, 2008 Hurricane Ike made landfall at Galveston, Texas.
Ike passed to our west and we were just on the fringe of the "dirty side" of
the hurricane. You can read and see pictures of the park after Rita
passed on our Hurricane Ike page.
Take a detailed tour of our park by using our website. We are
happy to show you each of our campsites, not just a chosen few. Most
of our sites have more than one view and as we can we will be expanding the
ones that do not. We will be happy to answer any question that you have.
We hope your give us a try and you will enjoy your stay with us!
