Fishing Tournaments Make your reservation 2008 Schedule
Lake Sam Rayburn is known as one of the top 10 bass fishing lakes in the United States. Several national as well as many local fishing tournaments are hosted on the lake each year. Tournaments may launch from several different areas or ramps around the lake. Most of the tournaments use the Umphrey Family Pavilion, which is located on the Southeast corner of the lake on R-255 next to the “public” boat ramp. Rayburn RV Hideout is located about 3 miles from the public ramp and Pavilion. This makes us a great place to go camping while fishing a tournament, fishing for fun or just enjoying Lake Sam Rayburn. Our campsites are roomy enough for your camping equipment, boat and vehicle. We generally offer a late check out to tournament participants on tournament days. Several stores in the Piney Point area located between Rayburn RV Hideout and the Pavilion offer fishing licenses, bait, tackle, fuel and groceries. Tournament restrictions to off limit days, using local guide services, entry fees, meetings and team parings differ from tournament to tournament. Please contact the tournament you are fishing for the most up to date information. Tournament dates can change due to weather, lake conditions, scheduling conflicts or many other reasons. Tournament weigh-ins are generally open the to the public and offer a chance to see professional angles at their best. Texas fishing and boating regulations are available at the Texas Park and Wildlife Fish/Boat Texas website. Licenses can be purchased online or at one of the stores in the Piney Point or Jasper area. Out of state licenses expire on August 31 of each year. Day plus fishing licenses are available to residents and non-residents. Please consult the rules and regulations for details. Armed Service members and their families on active duty are considered Texas Residents for license purposes. If you are thinking of camping with us for a tournament we do recommend reservations.
